Library Resources PDF

The College's Learning Resource Centre mission is to serve the information needs of the College's students, staff, and faculty.  Upon showing proof of enrollment, each person must sign a library membership card to borrow materials.

  • Fall and Spring term hours are: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  It is closed all public holidays.  During summer and term breaks the hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • The Centre's holdings include over 9700 volumes, 95 active serials (journals, newsletters, and newspapers) and 170 audio-visual items.  The general reference collection contains over 550 volumes.

  • All books, except Reference and Reserve may be borrowed for one week and are renewable.  No Serials can be borrowed. Audio-visual materials may be borrowed for two days and are renewable.  Only the first renewal may be phoned in.  Students may request a hold on a book and the library will contact them when the book is available.

  • Reserve books and materials, which include textbooks and items requested by faculty, may be borrowed from the Circulation Desk, and may not leave the Centre.  A student I.D. card is needed to use reserve books.

  • The fine for each overdue item is 20 cents per day, and all fines must be paid before borrowing privileges are reinstituted.  If an item is lost, the cost of replacement is billed.  When a lost item is reported, the fine will not continue.

The Centre also has the following equipment:

Computers to access, the World Wide Web, e-mail, and the online periodicals database EBSCOhost;

A printer to download information from the above resources;

A photocopier which can be used with a card purchased at the Circulation Desk; $5.00 for 50 copies, $10.00 for 100 copies; and

A television to view video-cassettes.
