   The University of the West Indies

The British Virgin Islands contributes to the recurrent budget of the University of the West Indies and is represented on the University Council by the Minister of Health, Education and Welfare. 
  
The University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies (BVI) is currently housed in facilities rented by the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in the heart of Road Town and which serve both as an annex of the Community College and the University Centre.  There is close collaboration between the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and the University Centre in the development and delivery of various programmes, for example, the Legal Studies programme and the Teacher Education programme.  The University of the West Indies is also in the process of delivering the Bachelor of Education Degree on the campus of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.  This collaborative relationship between the Community College and the University serves to enhance tertiary education in the British Virgin Islands and to encourage and assist those British Virgin Islands students who plan to enter the University of the West Indies.

The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and Hocking College entered into an "Articulation Training, and Transfer of Credit Agreement" in 1992.  As a result of this Agreemnet, Hocking College and the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College have collaborated in a number of area most significantly in delivery of a nursing programme.  Hocking College is a fully accredited two-year institution and is well-regarded for its technological programmes,perhaps most notably, its programme in ceramic technology.

    University of the Virgin Islands, USVI

Credits are currently transferable to the University of the Virgin Islands in a number of programme areas and discussions continue between the two institutions regarding further articulation arrangements with respect to the transfer of credits.  The University of the Virgin Islands is in the process of delivering the final two years of the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education on the campus of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College. Both institutions are also collaborating in the delivery of a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.

Arkansas Tech University

    Arkansas Tech University

Arkansas Tech University (ATU) of Russellville, Arkansas and the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College are collaborating on the development of a Certificate of Achievement, Asssociate Degree, and Bachelor Degree in the area of Disaster Management.  This collaboration includes the training of students in numerous areas of disaster management both at HLSCC and at ATU as well as allowing for a programme of student exchange.

  Missouri Southern State University, MISSOURI

Academic credits from H. Lavity Stoutt Community College are currently transferable to Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) of Joplin, Missouri. Additionally, MSSU and HLSCC are collaborating on the development of bachelor degree completion programmes in Business Management, Computer Science, and Elementary Education. Both institutions are also discussing the possibility of offering a programme in Police Science.

 
Neci  

The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and the New England Culinary Institute (NECI) of Montpelier, Vermont have entered into an agreement for the establishment of a NECI campus at HLSCC.  NECI at HLSCC will facilitate the training of students in the area of culinary arts leading to certification at the Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree levels.  NECI is one of the premier culinary institutes in the United States and holds international acclaim.

  In 1997, the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College entered into an articulation agreement with Saint Augustine’s College of Raleigh, North Carolina. The articulation agreement set up a two plus two programme (Bachelor Degree completion programme) that assures the transferability of Associate Degree graduates of HLSCC as third-year students to Saint Augustine’s College where they fulfil the Bachelor degree requirements with sixty (60) additional credits.

 
State University Of New York at Buffalo  
  The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and the State University of New York (UB) at Buffalo have signed an affiliation agreement with respect to the upgrading of nurses from the Associate Degree and hospital based certificate programmes to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.  The programme, which is jointly taught by UB and HLSCC faculty is being delivered at the Paraquita Bay campus of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.  This programme was in response to a request from the Government of the Virgin Islands for the College to facilitate and develop the capacity to deliver health professional programmes.

 
Wright State  
The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and Wright State University (WSU) of Dayton, Ohio have entered into an articulation agreement with respect to the transfer of credits from HLSCC into the WSU Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  A significant result of this relationship has been the opportunity for residents of the territory to pursue post-graduate education without having to leave the BVI through Masters in Education (M.Ed.) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programmes. Both institutions are collaborating on the delivery of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management to be delivered at the College’s Paraquita Bay campus.
